Empowering You.

Welcome to a space where your growth is our priority.

At Check In Counseling, we want therapy to actually feel helpful. If you found us, you’ve already taken the first step toward change!

We have a collaborative, solution-focused approach, which means taking a look together at what you are experiencing to create an action plan for your specific goals to see and feel results in everyday life.

FAQs:

1. What are our treatment areas?

A core value at Check In Counseling is that every person has innate strength and resiliency. Life can be difficult and majority of us will experience stressors at some point. Our clinical focus is 100% empowering and strength-based to help you tap into self-resiliency while navigating whatever you are dealing with. Treatment areas may include challenges with Anxiety, Life Transitions, Family, Coping Skills, Depression, Relationships, Communication, and Self-Confidence, among others.

2. Can counseling be short term?

Absolutely. As our approach is progress-driven with practical strategies, people tend to feel better and see results on the quicker side. There is no time frame set, short or long. Our goal is to have you living and functioning independently in a happier, healthier way. We do frequent check-ins to ensure continued growth and will adjust session frequency based on need.

3. What are our clinical modalities?

We’ve learned there is no singular way to do this work as every person is unique with skills and experiences specific to them. Our philosophy centers around the connectedness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We incorporate grounding and mindfulness techniques in sessions while pulling from Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to discover and improve existing patterns of thinking, response, and behavior.

4. Do we accept insurance?

Yes! We believe mental health care should be accessible to all without cost as a barrier. Below are our current in-network plans. We also offer super-bills that you can submit to out-of-network insurances for reimbursement and have a sliding fee scale.

  • Aetna

  • United Healthcare

  • Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Oxford Health Plans

  • Cigna
